Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 1, 2026
The short version. Restock Rush is a restocking tool for bars, restaurants and other hospitality venues. To sync your venue’s catalog and runs across devices, we store that data in your venue’s account. We don’t run advertising or analytics, we don’t track you across other apps or sites, and we don’t sell your data.
This policy covers the Restock Rush app for iPhone and iPad (“the app”) and this website. Restock Rush is published by Northbound House (“we”, “us”).
What we collect
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Venue account email and password | To sign your venue’s devices in to one shared venue account. | Google Firebase Authentication. We never see your password in readable form. |
| Venue data you create: catalog, scans, restock runs, areas and settings | To run the app and keep every signed-in device at your venue in sync. | On your devices, and in your venue’s private area of Google Cloud Firestore. Other venues cannot read it. |
| Subscription status | To unlock the app for your venue. | Apple handles payment. We receive signed purchase records tied to a random token derived from your venue, not to your Apple ID or payment details. |
| Product names from the shared catalog | To help other venues recognize the same barcode. | Cloud Firestore. See Shared product catalog below. |
We do not collect your name, phone number, location, contacts, photos, advertising identifier or device identifiers for advertising.
How we use it
- To provide the app: scanning, building and sending runs, printing tickets and syncing between your devices.
- To verify your venue’s subscription.
- To reply to support requests you send us.
That is all. We don’t use your data for advertising, profiling or sale.
Barcode lookups
When you scan a barcode the app doesn’t already know, it first checks your catalog and the product library built into the app. If it still has no match, it may send only the barcode number to a product database to fetch the product name: Restock Rush’s shared catalog, Open Food Facts and UPCitemdb. Those services receive that barcode number and your device’s IP address, as any web request does, and have their own privacy policies. You can choose which lookup providers the app uses in Settings.
Shared product catalog
By default, when staff save or edit a product while signed in, the app contributes its public product details to a catalog shared by Restock Rush venues: brand, product name, variant, category and package size, keyed by barcode number. It never contributes your scans, runs, notes, quantities, display names or anything that identifies your venue. You can switch this off in Settings → Product lookup → Contribute to shared catalog.
Camera, Bluetooth and local network
- Camera: used only to read barcodes on your device. Images are not saved or uploaded.
- Bluetooth: Bluetooth barcode scanners connect to your device as a keyboard, so the app receives only the scanned barcode text.
- Local network: used to find network printers at your venue and send them restock tickets. Ticket contents go only to the printer you choose.
Services that process data for us
- Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore) stores venue accounts and venue data.
- Apple processes subscriptions and payments through the App Store. We never receive your payment details.
The app contains no advertising SDKs and no analytics or tracking SDKs.
Sharing
We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers above as needed to run the app, or if the law requires it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Each venue’s cloud data is readable and writable only by that venue’s signed-in account. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password for your venue account and share it only with your team.
Your choices and deleting your data
- In the app: Settings → Erase all data removes your catalog, scans and runs from the device. When you’re signed in, it also removes your venue’s synced data from the cloud.
- Delete your venue account: email support@northboundhouse.com from your venue account email and we will delete the account and its data.
- Subscriptions: manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
If you’re in a region with data protection rights (such as the EU, UK or California), you can also ask us to access, correct or delete your data by emailing us.
Children
Restock Rush is a tool for hospitality staff and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
